A semi-autobiographical mountaineering-based novel written by one of the UK's greatest climbers who was killed in an avalanche while skiing in the Alps in 1977. Dougal Haston was the first Briton to climb the North Face of the Eiger in 1966 and with Doug Scott made the first ascent of the South-West face of Mount Everest in 1975.
